Our Directors

Rory Gillen

Rory is the founder of Gillen and has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years. He previously worked in NCB Stockbrokers, was a fund manager with Zurich (Ireland) and co-founded Merrion Capital in 1999. He is author of 3 Steps to Investment Success and a number of other shorter booklets, and a regular commentator in the media on investment related issues. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Dermot Browne

In addition to being the Chairman of Gillen, Dermot is also the Chairman of Athora Ireland and the Chair of the Audit Committees at PartnerRe, Ireland. Dermot is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has over 30 years’ experience in Financial Services having held executive positions with Aviva in Ireland (including as CEO) and with Zurich Insurance in both Ireland and Switzerland.

Brian Delaney

Brian is a Non-Executive Director at Gillen. Brian previously held the role of Head of Private Clients for Goodbody Stockbrokers and Head of Equities for NCB Stockbrokers (now Investec), and was a board director of both companies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds an honours BComm from University College Dublin.

Elaine Athanasopoulou

Elaine Athanasopoulou

Elaine is Head of Wealth Management where she is responsible for developing Gillen’s asset management strategy and leading Gillen’s team of Senior Investment Advisors. Elaine is also responsible for managing client portfolios. A mathematics graduate, she has extensive experience in financial markets, having held portfolio management roles in a range of financial institutions, including Pioneer Investments (now Amundi) and AIB Capital Markets.

As Head of Wealth Management, Elaine’s core objective is to deliver outstanding service to clients and ensure that Gillen clients receive high quality and independent investment advice that is tailored to their needs.

Rosemary Kelly

Rosemary Kelly

Rosemary is a Senior Investment Advisor responsible for managing client portfolios. Rosemary is also responsible for our in-house fund, The GM Fund. She has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 25 years. She most recently worked as Senior Portfolio Manager for KBC Fund Management (KBCFM) investing in a variety of fixed Income assets. Rosemary also previously held senior roles as Fund Manager of European Equities and Japanese Equities within KBCFM/Ulster Bank Investment Managers. She started her career as an Equity Researcher with Irish Life Investment Managers. Rosemary holds a BComm (Hons) (First Class) from UCD and is a member of the CFA.

Adam Kavanagh

Adam is a Senior Investment Advisor responsible for managing client portfolios. He has over seventeen years’ experience in the financial industry and, prior to joining Gillen in 2017, he was a Portfolio Manager at Davy and a Financial Consultant with Bank of Ireland. Adam is a Registered Stockbroker and a Qualified Financial Advisor.

David Coffey

David is a Senior Investment Advisor responsible for managing client portfolios. He has over twenty years’ experience in the financial industry and prior to joining Gillen in 2017, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Goodbody Stockbrokers and Cantor Fitzgerald. David is a Registered Stockbroker, a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and is a qualified Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
