How Long Has GillenMarkets Been Operating?
GillenMarkets was established in August 2005 and initially offered a 1-day stock market training course. In October 2009, GillenMarkets was approved as an Authorised Advisor by The Central Bank of Ireland and simultaneously launched its subscription-based weekly investment newsletter and website offering. Since 2014, the company has been providing investment advisory services and investment solutions for those who don’t have the time or inclination to manage their own monies and who wish to avoid the product sellers that pervade the financial services marketplace.
What Markets and Asset Classes Does GillenMarkets Cover?
GillenMarkets subscription-based newsletter offering and investment advisory services cover the global markets and all the asset classes including investing in equities (shares), property, government and corporate bonds, commodities, precious metals and alternative assets such as hedge strategies, bank credit, renewable energy and private equity. We also advise on Irish-based unit-linked funds as well as other funds such as exchange-traded funds, investment trusts and investment funds available from European investment managers.

Our Services and Why GillenMarkets is Different?
GillenMarkets aims to be the best company that you as an investor can deal with to help manage your investments. Our unique proposition is that we offer:
- Investment advisory services for the management of personal, pension and corporate monies.
- Training: Both an online training course that can be streamed from your own pc or tablet as well as an in-person 1-day stock market training seminar.
- A subscription-based investment newsletter & website offering, which provides you with the tools to manage your own savings and pension monies should you prefer to do the investing for yourself.
In terms of its investment advisory services, GillenMarkets is an impartial investment intermediary and independent of the banks, insurance companies, stockbrokers and sellers of investment products. Unlike the vast majority of investment intermediaries (IFAs or insurance brokers), we do not accept upfront commissions on the sale of investment products and our charging structure avoids any conflicts of interest. This places us on the same side of the table as our clients, who can be 100% confident that they will be getting advice and investment solutions tailored to their specific needs.
What is the Minimum Savings I Need to Start?
To take on a new investment client, we have a minimum of assets per client of €0.5 million or an ability to reach that target within a reasonable period of time.
For do-it-yourself investors interested in our subscription-based newsletter offering, the minimum amount required to invest for yourself is largely dictated by the costs of dealing. If you are going to deal through a traditional stockbroker, the minimum investment required to get started is probably in the order of €1,500. If, however, you are happy to deal through a low-cost, online stockbroker then the minimum is lower and probably in the order of €1,200.
Investment Training Courses
The aim of our online and in person investment training courses is to improve your understanding of the principles of sounds investing.
The Gillen subscription-based newsletter/website offering is an online weekly newsletter providing impartial stock and fund analysis and recommendations, views on where we see value in markets and analysis of events in markets.
Our Gillen membership offering provides independent analysis and recommendations on where we see value in the markets.
